BeyondtheEdgeTitle2-1-1

Beyond the Edge began as a collaboration by the facilitators — with the intention of creating a one-time event for clients and colleagues. We observed that many people we knew professionally wanted a chance to work on issues of leadership and self-development, but these were tough topics to get at in the intense workday stream of events. We decided to host a retreat where people in a shared setting could safely explore whatever dynamic challenges they were facing as individuals — from creating a new vision, to dealing with the risks of leading social change, to making a decision to buy a new company, to simply trying to overcome a persistent fear of failure.

We wanted to foster an environment where the diversity of people and issues would truly be a strength. While the community might be temporary, Beyond the Edge has always intended an experience where support from others is deep and genuine. We use the concept of “destiny” to help people think about their lives and where they are headed, and their challenges from a broad but fundamentally personal perspective. We add music, poetry, and other forms of art to give human richness to the event and to allow art to inform a process of insight. Our approach is ethical, spiritual, and unique. BTE is an independent entity — it has no association or affiliation with any other organization -- and is wholly the product of its creators, Dan, Jay, and Barb.

The three of us have previously hosted Beyond the Edge experiences at Spring Creek Resort in Wyoming once or twice a year since 1996. We limit the event to a maximum of twelve participants to ensure the quality of each person’s unique experience. The workshop vision, intention, and format have remained consistent over time.

"Leadership ultimately comes down to character and values. There is no better way to clarify who you are and what you value than by enrolling in Beyond the Edge.”
